Celebrating Pride
MTE Shares the Love
Principal Losee and district level staff support the Pride Week education that we are working on here at MTE.
If you or your family is interested in how the district is supporting the LGBTQ+ community and Pride Week, please contact Bridget Halfaker at halfakerb@edmonds.wednet.edu for district resources.
Pride Week:
Pride Week is a week in June where we can celebrate people who are gay, lesbian, transgender, non-binary, and lots of other identities. It is a week when we learn about the struggles these people have faced, and continue to face. It is a week when we celebrate the successes of people in this community. It is a week to celebrate love and kindness, and show people that community means embracing all types of people.
PRIDE is being proud of who you are, who you love, the right to love who you want and advocate for it.
PRIDE Arts and Crafts
Suggested art ideas: make PRIDE posters, draw rainbows with chalk around our community, and paint rainbows.
Rock Painting Campaign
We are asking all members of our Mountlake Terrace community to join our LOVE IS LOVE rock painting campaign. Paint beautiful rocks then hide them around our community to share our message.
